Who can post
You can post news for every market you look after in the organiser portal, once the market is on the public calendar and until its last day.
A market waiting for HobbyLux shows “This market is not in the public calendar yet, so it cannot have posts yet.” A market that is over shows “This market is over.”: new posts open when the next edition is in the calendar.
Write a post
- Open My markets and tap your market.
- Tap Posts at the top of the market page.
- Pick a “Topic”.
- If you like, add one photo and write “What the photo shows” in a few words.
- Write your text in “Your text” (up to 280 characters) and pick the “Language of your text”.
- Check the preview “Preview · as in the paper” and tap Post now.
- Topic
- One photo (optional)
- Your text and its language
- Where it shows, and when it is in the paper
- Post now
Write in the language you like best. We translate your text into the other three languages; readers see “Translated from …” and can tap “Show original”.
Topics
- Stands open: makers can still ask for a stand.
- Last stands: only a few places left.
- Hours: opening hours, or a change to them.
- Raffle: a raffle or tombola at the market.
- Music: live music or a show.
- Food and drinks: what visitors can eat and drink.
Your stand offers and their prices are in “Stands & prices”; a post can point to them. See Stand offers.
Where your post shows, and for how long
At once on your market page, under “News from this market”. Then it goes into D'Maartzeitung under Market news: posted before Wednesday 12:00 (Luxembourg time), it is in that Thursday’s edition, else in the next one. The line above Post now tells you the day.
After the market’s last day, the post leaves the market page. In the past editions of D'Maartzeitung it stays until you delete it.
- On the market page
- In the paper on Thursday, or the edition it is in
- “See you there” count
- Delete
Each section of the paper shows up to 9 posts. On a busy week your post may not be in the paper, but it stays on your market page.
House rules for posts
- News about your own market only, with true dates and times.
- Your own photos (or photos you may use).
- No outside links: no web addresses, no email addresses.
- No online selling: no “buy now” or “order”, no payment details. Prices are fine.
- People agree to be shown: ask before you show someone who can be recognised. Never children as the main subject.
- Kind words: no swear words, no hate, nothing indecent, no other people’s personal data.
The full rules are in the terms, section 10.
Reactions, reports and the AI check
Visitors can tap “See you there” on your news, without an account, once per browser. You and every visitor see the count. You never see who reacted.
Each new post is checked once by an AI service in the EU (Mistral AI), and visitors can tap Report. Both only ask HobbyLux to look: your post stays live until HobbyLux decides. You never learn who reported it.
Limits: 3 posts a week
- 3 posts a week for your account, from Monday to Sunday (Luxembourg time), for all your markets together.
- A deleted post still counts for its week.
- Text: up to 280 characters, no links. One photo at most.
- Photos: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB. HEIC photos do not work yet: on an iPhone, set Settings › Camera › Formats › Most Compatible.
Posting is free for organisers.
