Refunds: all or part, and automatic refunds

Some refunds happen by themselves. Others you make yourself, from the request page.

Refunds that happen by themselves

  • You cancel the market, or HobbyLux moves it to another entry: every maker who paid gets everything back, booking fee included.
  • You take back a Yes the maker has already paid: everything goes back at once, booking fee included.
  • A maker pays after the deadline has passed: that payment goes back in full.

Your inbox gets a note, for example “Market cancelled: all payments refunded”.

A maker cannot come

When a maker cancels, the money does not go back by itself. The maker asks you for a refund, by email. You decide whether to refund all or part of the stand price.

Full refund or part of the stand price

  • Full refund: the stand and the booking fee go back to the maker.
  • Part of the stand price: you choose the amount, up to the stand price. The booking fee is not refunded.
A full refund gives the maker back the stand and the booking fee. A part refund gives back only the part of the stand price you choose. In both cases the stand stays booked.
Good to know

A refund keeps the stand booked for the maker. To give the place to someone else, take back your Yes instead: that refunds everything at once.

Make a refund

  1. Open the request from your inbox.
  2. In “What you sent”, under Payment, tap Refund.
  3. Pick Full refund or Part of the stand price. For a part, type the Amount to refund (€).
  4. Tap Next and check what goes back.
  5. Tap the Refund button with the amount, for example Refund 38.90 €.
  6. Wait until it says “Refund sent”. Do not close the page.

  4. Refund and the amount
Good to know

You cannot undo a refund.

Where the money comes from

The stand money comes from your Stripe balance. On a full refund, HobbyLux pays back the booking fee, but Stripe keeps its card fee (about 1.5% + 0.25 €): that part comes from your balance too.

After a refund

The money goes back to the card or account used to pay, usually within 5 to 10 days. The maker gets an email. The request shows “Refunded” or “Part refunded”.

After a part refund you can refund more later, up to what is left of the stand price.

If Stripe could not send the refund, nothing was taken from your balance. Try again in a few minutes, or write to us.
